Hey folks! I've had my little boxer rescue Winnie for about 4 months now. Although she was very rambuncious when I first got her she has calmed down and adapted to her new home. One behavior that has become a bit annoying however is her constant need to lick my hands, face, pant legs, etc. And not just me, she does this with everyone in the house. And it's not the sort of licking where she's laying down, comfy, giving dog kisses-it's more like "anxious licking". She seems nervous almost. Does anyone else's boxer have a licking obession?

Our boxers lick! But what do you mean by anxious lick? Our dogs not only lick us when they are lying down, but they lick us when we are watching tv, sleeping, walking, sitting down, playing with them, punishing them, bathing them, etc... They are dogs and that's how they express their affection.
My little rescue (the famous Tony terrier) licks and licks and licks as well. He mostly licks himself (the base to the middle of his tail), legs, or chest. But he also licks other things as well, like the couch, the cats, blankets, people, etc. We've had him checked for glandular problems, parasites, etc and he is fine. The vet thinks that it is due to anxiety. Have you noticed your Winnie licking more at different times? Is it worse when you leave or get home (separation anxiety)? Does anything seem to stop it? She may be experiencing anxiety as well, especially if she is a rescue from a previously bad situation. Your vet may be able to prescribe an antianxiety medication, or you could try a herbal remedy (I believe it's called Rescue Remedy).
The other possibility would be obsessive compulsive disorder. If you can get her to stop it is probably not obsessive compulsive.
