i was just wondering what age you let your dog start to rome the house while at work, or maybe you dont at all...my dog has been roaming for a few days now...shes 7 months old and so far no accidents or nothing chewed up!

We tried to let him roam, but he was a bad boy. So now we keep him in the kitchen-dining room area. We make sure there isn't anything he can get in to. He REALLY doesn't like it when we're not home.

Beau will be 2 on the 13th and still has to be crated. If left alone, even for 5 minutes, he destroys anything and everything in sight. For his safety and my sanity, he and Bailey are both crated while I'm gone.

Elvis has the place to roam apart from the bedroom! He has a few naughty days, but everytime he does something bad we put a stop to it, i.e. he used to eat the mail so we now have a stair gate!

He loves to sit on the window cil and watch the world go by, so i could not lock him in the kitchen and deprive him of this!

Baxter is fine to roam the house. I don’t remember at what age we started allowing him the privilege. We also take Baxter with us in our RV and he’s fine.

Only on very rare occasions does he have an accident or get into something he shouldn’t. I’d love to set up the video camera and film him, just to see what he does when we are not around.

..that's very good for a 7 month old!....I would just make sure cords are unplugged and anything that may harm her are moved just in case she gets bored or wants "payback" one day...lol

Ginny is 7 months old and still crated when we are not home. She is a wonderful dog and the worst she has done so far is dig in the yard. But we just don't want to tempt fate and give her the opportunity to destroy something (my BR has beautiful leather couches that we don't want anything to happen to!!).

Not sure how long before we will give her the run of the house. I doubt it will be anytime soon!! We just stopped using the playpen last week (we used that when we were home but couldn't keep her in our direct sight the entire time) and she is doing pretty well so far!
