Bambi's Mom
Boxer Pal
Hi everyone,
My 10 year old boxer Bambi has been limping and favoring her right front leg. At first I thought she just pulled something when she was playing. It seems to be the joint right above her foot that is causing the problem and it has developed what seems to be a lump of calcification on the joint. I have been treating her with asprin and ice/heat packs, plus her dog food contains glucosamine and chondroitin. Last week I started her on Arthisoothe. It has Glucosamine, chondroitin, green lipped mussel, yucca, boswella, ester c, and vitamin E.
Normally I would have taken her to the vet, however at this point in time I really can't afford it especially with the vet prices in Ca. Several months ago she had a UTI at the vet bill was $650. Plus I realize she is 10 years old and I really don't want to put her though a lot of invasive procedures.
Unfourtunately I am facing the fact of putting her to sleep, which I hate the thought of, but I also hate to see her limping all the time.
Anyway, my question is has anyone had any problems like this before with the front ankles and has anyone gotten any relief from the glucosamine products.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
