i don't think it's a good idea to leave any dog outside.
left to their own devices they get bored and can subsequently get into trouble. climbing fences to see what's on the other side, barking for long periods of time, digging out from under the fence. and then the weather is another factor.......heat, rain, etc.
neighbors sometimes don't appreciate a dog that is left outside for long periods and it can cause a strained environment for the neighborhood.
i would say confine him to an area inside and see if you can have someone come over and let him out a few times a day.
i'm just not a fan of leaving dogs outside because i consider them to be part of the family and living indoors with us.

I agree that it is safer to leave him inside. Sad but true story....my friend had a 6 month old puppy that was left outside and she tried to get out to the fence and ended up hanging herself by the color when it got caught on the fence. Tough lesson learned but maybe this will help you with your decission to leave him in or out.

WOW! I can not believe 12 people replys me, thank you all. I think you guys were making very good points. My apology becuase I did not describe how my house look like. The place have 4 single house, one big Gate, after get in to the big gate, there is 2 individual gate, one is for my house, one is for another 3 house. anyway, My house is the first one which is close to the big gate, so if people get in to the first game, he/she can open the second gate righ away just after couple steps. My fence are pretty high, people from outside will not be able to see what s inside, they only chance they can see what is inside is from the small gate that enter into my house. if you still can not creat a picture of how my house looks like, lol, I will draw a picture next time.

Go back to my yard, it's not a small front yard, it's a privide big yard, I dont konw how big is it, but my dog can run around the house over and over and he likes that, he usually pick up a tennis ball and try to get me attention to chasing the ball with him.

regrading to everybody's replys, everybody vote for not put him outside for 8 hrs. Would anyone still vote no for puting him ouside if you understand what I describled? lol, thank you all.

my feelings would not change because i don't believe any dog should be left outside alone for such a long period of time. even with a big, private yard.........it's not the right thing to do, in my opinion.
our dogs, especially our boxers, should be in the house....living with us.

This is the first dog I ever crate trained - and unfortunately SuzyQ had to spend some long days in her crate - however, it seemed to have no ill effect. I would rather have that then leave her unattended outdoors, no matter what kind of fence I had. Most dogs, particularly young ones, will develop digging and other destructive habits just out of boredom & too much energy. I always let her get a good run (fortunately we live in the country) in the morning before going to work and first thing when she got out in the afternoon. But if you could get someone to come in and let her out 1 or 2 times I don't see why the crate is any problem.

From everything I have read and heard about boxers they are an indoor breed and that they are not a breed that should be left outside for long periods of time. Like everyone has posted I think it is best to be in a kennel if you are gone. I really don't even let mine out unless I am out with him, we have a big yard a big fence too but still just too much can happen. Most dogs can hold their bladder for 8 hours if need be, but just make sure let him out to potty right when you get home and then take him for a nice long walk to release some energy. I just really think that leaving him outside all day is not the best idea. No dog should be left out that long. Plus what about the weather? Boxers are very temperature sensitive and you need to take that into consideration too.

we have put the dog house outside in the 16FTX16FT roof, so he sleep in the dog house during night, and day time, he just walk around do whatever he wants to do. The thing is that he start digging, start hiding our shoes and killing our flowers, and he konws that is wrong, when we get home, he feel guilty about those things he have did, just laying there and pray us for not beat him( of course we never beat him). about the fence, he will never get over it, it's very high.

I think the consensus is that the dog shouldn’t be left outside unattended for such a long time. As everyone already stated there are risks that he could get loose, get stolen, or get into something. My male boxer can easily leap a 6 foot wall so don’t underestimate their ability to jump. Bottom line is if there is another place that you can leave him that would be best. Also if I am reading your post correctly it sounds like he sleeps outside too? Boxers aren’t outside dogs. They crave companionship and prefer to be with their people. I have never really understood why someone would have an outside dog. What’s the point of having a dog if you aren’t sharing your life & home with him? Additionally because of their short muzzles Boxers have a hard time regulating body temperature. They don’t do well with heat or cold so it’s best that they have the ability to go indoors and escape from the elements.

thank you, you are giving many good points of why should I need to keep him inside. But i only question is he will be destroy my house if he is inside of the room, lol. What should I do?

If you can't trust him in the house on his own, your best bet is to limit his space, either by crating or selecting one room that can be dog-proofed. We have used the kitchen in the past for our puppies until they were trustworthy. Tile floors are easy to clean up and there's less opportunity for destructiveness -- just make sure your counters are clear. If the kitchen doesn't work, you can use a bedroom, bathroom, or basement, if your house has one. You should provide water in whatever space you decide to use. Leave some toys to keep him occupied and a soft spot for napping. Provide exercise before and after the time he is alone.
