My pup is very social, loves every dog and person he sees. He loves running and playing off his leash but when it goes on he doesn't move. I take that back, he will bite the leash and walk with it like he is the one leading, but other than that he just sits. How did yall leash train? I assume there is no special trick but just lots of patience. Either way, let me know what some of you did that helped.

Easywalk harness is a miracle-worker! Other than that, try treats to get him to go forward, and enroll him in a puppy kindergarten class.

Where did you get your easywalk? Did you get it online or somewhere in CS? I can't find that one at the two stores I went to, they only had the one that goes around Choppers muzzle and he WILL NOT walk with that one. We're going to be in CS this weekend and I thought I'd pick one up if you got it in town. Thanks :)

Apollo hated his leash when it was on his collar and walks much better with a harness of any kind.
For leash training make them feel comfortable with the leash on before going on walks but the leash on him and let him drag it around for a week or so, when he's outside playing put the collar on and let him drag it around, after a week or so start to pick it up and walk with him, let him be in 'charge' just direct him a little where to go around your back yard and reward him. DOn't try to take him for a walk right away let him learn to like it show him that the leash means more space to see. If this doesn't work leave the leash on him and place the loop say around a door knob for a few minutes (while you watch him so that he can't hurt himself) this will teach him that tugging and going crazy doesn't get him any where, pick the leash up and try to walk with him. Using a long line at first may also be a possibility, take him to a park and let him wonder a little bit and simply turn your back walk away and ignore him, if he doesn't come to youit will give him a little tug and hopefully cause him to run towards you as you are now 25 feet away. Hope all goes well, this may take a few weeks but practice and praise encourage the best results.

Thanks for the help. He's young and I know it will just take work, we are getting in some puppy classes soon so that might help. I'll let you know how it goes.

Online. Just google "easywalk harness" until you find someplace where you can order it. You can also get one at the Puppy Love trainers here in College Station. I'm not sure that they're open on Saturday, but if you visit their website, I'm sure you can find a way to buy it.
