leaning toward getting a pup. opinions?

Thanks everyone....you have helped alot! There are 3 possibilities for puppies from reputable breeders that show their dogs. None are too close but what the heck.
One as soon as now(unless they're all sold) and one in 2 weeks the other in 7 weeks. Prices from 700-800. :0
My hubby is none too pleased w/the prices. I think he thinks i'm being ridiculous about getting one from a show breeder. But I told him that is the only way i will do a puppy. otherwise it will be a rescue.
I am in no way "turning my nose up on rescue" heck it was my idea in the first place. I just got a little nervous thinking about my tiny doggies and my precious children, with a dog we know nothing about...except what someone else thinks to be true. My husband and i both worry about having to correct the dog and it getting aggressive. It's a little scary to think about when you have children.
The puppy would be ours from the start and there would be no fear there. And when he's a big dog...he'll know what we expect and I won't be afraid to correct a dog i've raised.
I am not positive yet...and believe me if I decide to go puppy.....the rescue will be my first call. I have said before I wouldn't ever want to waste their time. That's a hard job i'm sure.
But I've got to do what i'm comfortable with and whats right for our family.
I am a non working person so the dog will have a super life w/ mommy almost always home.
I will let you guys know when we get our boxer and what it is! And i'm sure i will have loads of questions about my first boxer baby!!! Thanks all!

I'm very glad you've decided to only look at reputable breeders. It's great that you're learning from this wonderful site!!! :D

Regarding your above comment: Just a clarification...
The chances of getting an aggressive dog from a rescue are slim due to all the evaluations we do and the fact that most are in foster homes for a time---just an FYI---most families I place boxers with, have kids and do wonderful---no out-of-the-blue aggression toward people or kids. In my experience, PUPPIES are the ones that accidentally hurt children. In fact, in my rescue, we will not adopt a dog younger than three years old if the family has a toddler or baby due to the fact that boxer puppies (under about 3 yrs old) are silly and playful and we want the "best chance for success". Having your young boxer puppy chewing on your toddlers toys, slobbering all over them, and knocking them flat on the floor (even though they're just playing) is not the "best chance" that they will keep the dog.

People often worry about the adult dogs being rough on their children, but an older dog will many times know what's appropriate and what's not much *quicker* than a young dog.
