Leaning on or towards

Harvey has recently began to lean against my partner or myself at random i assumed it was a call for attention or a way of saying ello and to let us know hes about.

By leaning i litterrally mean he will walk past then back himself up with his side against a leg, knee and even arms (if they are over the side of the sofa)

Also he has an uncanny habbit of sitting on my foot or any other part or me or my partner when we sit in chairs or on the floor with him.

just wanted to check that this is not a means of him demonstrating dominance and if so how best to deter it.

Yes, my Butch does this all the time. I take it as a greeting or a hug of some sort. I don't think it's a display of dominance.
It's just one of those sweet things that boxers do.

great i did think it was just him being himself but wanted to be sure, hes been a counter surfer (hopefully sorted that out now, thanks to advise from BW) so i know he will try anything on.

The latest game is to go visit the neighbours by pushing the fence panel out along the bottom! - DIY for me this weekend if the weather holds to re-inforce the fence panel.

he is still very licky anything and anyone! his favorite the ice on the inner door of the freezer when were sorting tea out.

A dog leaning on you or sitting on any part of your body is their way of claiming you. It is cute but to them it is them owning us in a way. I don't let my dogs do because my Weim is always trying to push his way on people. My Boxer is pretty good about keeping his space. If this habit does not bother you then I guess you don not have to change it We all know what is best for us and our fur babies.

all of ours are leaners, very normal behavior I think it's a way that they acknoweldge that you support them.
