Leakage - from behind!

Daisy, almost 6 mos., has been leaking a light green discharge from her vulva for a month or two now. The vet originally treated her for a urinary tract infection and a yeast infection. She had been done with those pills for about a month and a half now - but the leakage is still there. It is especially prevalant after she urinates or sleeps. Has anyone else experienced this in their dogs? Thanks!

P.S. We even wipe her with baby wipes when she comes back inside from doing her business. :p

I would most definitely get in touch with your Vet and let him know that she is continuing with this problem.
Sounds like the medication didn't do the job and the Vet may need to try a different medication or do a little further investigating into the problem.

Best Wishes!

Keep us posted!! :)

hey Natalie

My Baby shelby had this too - still does some times - its nothing to seriouse - nothing for meds i personally think - although if she is having trouble while peeing it may be some thing for you to talk to your vet about - have you tired adding stuff to her diet? i add yoghurt and stuff and this seems to help shelby - she has no discomfort and the discharge is only there in the morning and some times when she goes potty!

any ways i hope this helps!

I have had problems with my girl with the same thing. I won't go into it, but I would definately get a second opinion if your vet doesn't do anything about it. You need to get down to the bottom if what her problem it. Good luck and let us know what the vet says.

Well, Daisy and I went to the vet yesterday. He thinks she has an infection in her uterus. Since she is getting spayed on Monday, hopefully the problem will be cured! Please keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly!

Thanks!

same thing?

My 9mo female has the same symptoms, but she's already been spayed at 6 mo, so it can't be the uterus for her? What should I do?

I would take her to the vet and have them test her urine (take some w/you) and see what they think. Sometimes it could be just vaginitis and other times bladder problems. My old vet thought Baylee had vaginitis for the longest time and low and behold it was her bladder. (One bladder surgery and lots of stones later-she was 6 1/2 yrs when this happened and 9 months when it all started) My old vet never checked for crystals in Bay's urine so-make sure you have the vet check that out! Good luck!
