Good Morning! I have a quick question for you all if you dont mind. I was wondering if anyone else's Boxers does the whole "chasing your feet and knawing at your pantleg while I am trying to walk" thing. My 11 week old Boxer will NOT let me walk two steps without me tripping up over him. He is constantly chasing and biting my pant leg....please tell me its a phase and they grow out of it. Or if not, what did you do to curve this behavior. Thank you so much for any advice you might have!! Have a great day!

I think thats normal my 8 week old does it all the time when we're outside. I'll go out there with him and he'll take a pee and sometimes a pooh and come running at me, and ram me with his shoulder and then grab onto my jeans while I drag him around the yard. I'm not for sure but I think they're just trying to play when they do that. Just like rough housing for a dog. Which if you just got your pup you better get used too. They're like either ON or OFF. As in, awake or asleep and if he's not asleep hes chomping or chewing on something. Usually my hands/feet.

Mine Too!

Fuego does this occasionally still (he's 1 1/2 yrs). Its more when he is in the mood to play with me...so it is his way of getting my attention. He did it as a pup also, but when he was persistent with it I discouraged it. Now it is only an occasional play habit.

Sully stopped!

JoeBuddy -
Sully (15 weeks tomorrow) loved to do this. What I learned to do was just stop walking, stand perfectly still, and ignore her, basically became as still as a tree. She would get bored with this inactivity and walk away. After several repetitions of this, Sully stopped going for my legs and ankles (I wore jeans and shoes, otherwise it really hurts to be a tree). We haven't accomplished the no biting/chewing my wrists yet but I'm hopeful.

I noticed standing still works well outside, I've figured that out and been employing it for a few days. But you're right, my wife took him out yesterday in her pajama pants and now there's a few holes in them.

As for the wrists goodluck bimmer goes for hands, wrists, feet, toes you name it. Doesn't matter if you're moving or not.

Bosco did this as a puppy. He would do anything to try and get me to play and when I wasn't playing...he would just play anyway...ie: pulling on my pants, shoe strings, sleeves, fingers, anything. I thought it was cute although annoying at times, but he stopped the older he got. At 2 he will pull on my pants when we are playing, but he knows that when mommy says "enough" its time to stop!

Rogue is 8mths & still does this - mainly to my daughter. It's annoying to me when all I see is holes in my daughter's trousers, especially when I've just bought them. :(

My daughter walks in the room holding her ankles  & trying to dodge eye contact with Rogue.

It never works - Rogue has her every time.

When I'm there I have to stop Rogue so that my daughter can walk across the living room & sit down.
