my 7 month old puppy is obsessed with a laser light we bought him. He learned to follow the light from other boxers in our park. He will continue to look for the light even when the "game" is over. Has any one else tried this? It's great exercise for boxers.

Our boys LOVE the laser light. Titus tries to get it so bad that sometimes he scraps his mouth on the carpet so much that his mouth starts to bleed...and we have to stop the game. But it is great fun!!

we got ours at staples... don't get the ones at petsmart or pet co because they don't have a long enough range. sam goody's also has one. they look like a pen with a red light on the end.

This was great when I first tried it out on Harley. He would run after the light, try to catch it in his mouth. Plenty of laughs and fun.

Until I took it away. He searched for it for approx 2 hours constantly and it looked like he was getting distressed by not finding it.

So now the laser light is put away and not brought out. Although when the sun reflects on my watch, Harley is straight away trying to get that.

ALLY loves the laser light too but we also don't use it much anymore cause she gets WAY to into it. She will also follow shadows, reflections, sometimes even shadows. She'll also chase the flashlight?

The laser light is definitely a good workout though.

We do not let Buddy chase the laser light. We thought it was funny at first, however, Buddy became very paraniod about the laser and would look for it for hours on end and didnt want to do anything else. It seemed like it really disturbed him because his heart would beat very fast and his only focus was to try to find the laser light. He took it very seriously and acted very different from the other games we play with him. In our case it caused unneceesary stress and I felt sorry for him for using the laser in the first place.

Charlie & Emma love the laser. Charlie even asks for it sometimes. I occasionally leave the laser on the end table next to the couch. While I'm sitting there, he'll come over, sit his chin on the table and look right at the laser. If I don't do anything, he starts nudging it. :)

When the laser game is over, I don't just quick. I run the laser up the wall in a special place and make circles for about 5 seconds, then I say "Take a break. Get some water." That signals to them the game is over. Once they learn the rules, they don't go hunting for the light when it's off.

We got Boo addicted to the flashlight. She is now so bad that she goes nuts when you even take it out of the drawer.

Toffee loves chasing the red dot!

We let het "get it" at the end of game time though, so when she pounces on it, we tell her she got it, good girl. That way she knows she doesn't need to keep looking for it.
