You have to understand I live in the land of back yard breeders. I get so tired of all the crossings of breeds lately to get some "new" breed that sells for $400, or even more. When in all these cases they are just mutts.

You know how Boxers get so excited that they can't wag their nubs fast enough, so they wag their entire hiney? If they have tails, do they still do that?

You know, that’s a good question and an interesting topic. I see how fast the nubbies wag and it’s SO cute. Tae’s tail does not wag that fast. If anyone else has a Boxer with a natural tail, I’d love to hear how fast it wags. I think that’s why, in my opinion, there’s a misconception about the tail doing damage to something. I’ve always wondered why the nubbie moves so fast, but Tae’s tail doesn’t. Maybe it’s defective. LOL

She does kidney bean, though, and her back end does wiggle, but it’s difficult to compare to a docked Boxer b/c she’s also really small (40 lbs and full-grown). I’ve seen larger Boxers and they wiggle like crazy. I kind of have a theory and have no idea if this is accurate, but I can’t help but wonder if they wiggle so much b/c they are docked OR b/c they have very muscular and therefore heavy back ends. I’ve always been curious about this.

Dr Cattanach has been a boxer breeder since the 1940s. He is one of the world's leading canine geneticists, boxer judge, founder of UK health screening programs... and quite a few other things besides. I'd suggest you do a little research on Dr Cattanach and his Bobtails before slandering them. Not everyone's cup of tea, for sure, but by no means is this the production of mutts that will end up in shelters either. On the contrary, they are being successfully shown in several countries - and have even qualified for Crufts in some cases. Wow, I just looked at that link. If I didn't know better, I would think those were regular boxers with clipped tails. Isn't it amazing that breeding can produce a natural boxer with a nub? It makes me wonder if they can eventually use genetics to come out with naturally cropped ears (not that I would want them - I'm a total floppy fan ).
