My 6 year old baby girl Laila was diagnosed with ARVC a few days ago after fainting. She was born with Pulmonic Stenosis and the cardiologist says that has remained unchanged since a few years ago when she last saw a cardiologist - they have categorized it as mild.

The cardiologist also found Distal pulmonary artery stenosis, but said it is moderate and not causing trouble for our baby at this time. The ARVC is the main issue right now. We have started Sotalol at 80mg every 12 hours. Laila has been home for 3 days now; she is still pretty tried and not eating normal. I can't help but stare at her chest as she sleeps. I worry so much. I have read so much information here in the forums. I want to thank everyone for sharing the information, I feel more informed. We go back to the cardiologist in two weeks to see how she is doing on the medicine. I am praying we are able to manage the disease with the medicine and hoping she still will have good quality of life.

My Oscar 6-1/2 years old was diagnosed ARVC in June. We did not put him on Sotalol due unfavorable side effects especially during dose adjustments. After prolong consultations with Cardiologists and my own research , we decided not to give him Sotalol, that is not proven to prevent collapse or even worse. We decided to enjoy our wonderful dog as long as he stays with us. Now new shock, MCT and we cannot do anything about it due to high risk of anesthesia that he may not come out. Our support and best wishes to you and your baby.
