Ok, so I've seen lots of doggie birthday cakes, hats, toys, etc. in BW members' pictures. For those of you who have thrown a birthday party for your baby, what do you suggest I do for this very special day on Thursday??!!

Happy Birthday

Wishing Lael an Happy Birthday!!!

Make her a birthday cake -- what else? Or Cortes's favorite "special" treat is a plain hamburger from McDonald's.

Duke's birthday is on Christmas day, we had a birthday party for him with the family. Everybody had bought him a new treat and toy. we had a birthday cake for him to, but it was turkey. he liked to play with the pieces of wrapping paper.

With my other dog (charlie-mini schnauzer) I made him a cake, and he had one piece, and then we bought him a gift bag of dog toys, and some doggie clothes, and made a card on the internet, and sang happy birthday to him (DH thought I was nuts) but I know you all understand! ;)
Frankies b-day is Nov. 2nd, and I plan to buy him a kong and bad cuz, that he has so been wanting..lol, and gonna have a cake, and all the fixings..:D (Keep it a secret from Frank..shhhh)

Doggie Cake?

So what do you put in a doggie cake? I was thinking of making a sort of pot pie filled with tasty (& nutritious ;) ) doggie yummies. I'd love to make her this kind of cake, but have no clue what to put in it. What kind of cakes have y'all made?

I threw Gunther a surprise birthday party for him just this past Sunday. He turned one years old on 10/16. I invited a couple of my friends and a couple of Gunther's friends. Gunther's friends were Roxy, a younger female boxer whome he's played with before, and Felix, a Chihuahua (Roxy's brother). The three dogs romped freely outside until they were exhausted. Then we came inside. Everyone got party favors, except Felex 'cause I wasn't expecting him. Roxy's bag of goodies included a greenie, bath wipes, and training treats. Before everyone left, we lit a candle in Gunther's BowWow cake (I found the recipe from a BW thread) and the pups ate cake. The cake went over big. It was a really fun day. My mother was also there and she thought Roxy and Gunther were going to kill themselves. I had to explain to her that Boxers tend to play rough and they are just having a good time together. I took lots of pictures and will get a few in my gallery soon.

If you do a search in the Dog recipe forum you will find a recipe for a birthday cake. :)
