[/FONT] I NEED HELP !!!!

I am at my wits end. Lady Liberty (who will be 1 year old next month) is the pickiest eater in the world. When I first brought her home, the breeder had her on Pro Plan which she hated. After three or four days of her not eating I tried Nuto Dry Food with a little bit of canned. That lasted for a few months and then Lady decided not to eat. I then switched to Iams and she ate that or a bit. When she was fixed, I brought her home from the hospital and she looked so pathetic, I decided to cook for her until she was feeling better (about a week - cooked chicken and chicken livers). After that, I could not get her back on dog food. I have tried the following: Euronuba (spl?), Wellness, Benefit ?, Science Diet, Pedigree, Gravy Train, Kibbles and Bits and at least 5 others which you probably never heard of. The only one she will eat dry is Bill Jack and the vet said it is filled with molasses which is not good for her. At present, she is eating Science Diet along with people food added. I want to be able to put down dry dog food and have her eat it all up. I tried, but after three day, I break down and give in. I would love any suggestions you may have. PS I also tried adding a raw egg to her dry food - NG. I tried sprinkling oregno over the food - NG. THE SPCA LOVE ME BECAUSE OF ALL THE FOOD I BRING THERE AFTER LADY HAS REFUSED TO EAT IT. HELP, HELP, HELP.

I feed Titus wellness dry but I add about 2 tablespoons of canned in with it and add about a cup of water and mix it up. He loves it. Have you considered BARF? I guarantee you she will eat BARF.

when Lexi turns her nose up everynow and then at her dry food I just throw a spoon full of unsweetened apple sauce or plain yogart or sometimes both and stir it around and she goes nuts. The apple sauce or yogart should last you all week at least (I would buy new yogart after 1 week). That should save you some time cooking and it just gives the dry food some extra flavor.

Choose a dry food you are comfortable with

And STICK to it - this may make you feel bad- but at the moment you are not acting like her boss (alpha) - running around and giving in to her and making her her own food. Put down the food your comfortable with - leave it for 5 minutes - if she doesnt eat it pick it up - and do not feed her or offer her cheese or any treats ( its hard) until the next feeding... if you keep this up she will realise she has to eat wat you offer or go hungry...

Also check out the feeding and behavoural forums for some other tips..... or do a seach on Feeding and Picky

Good Luck!!!

My Gnarly was really picky with dry food and would only eat it after all his meat was eaten (if he was still hungry). If we have no meat left and he only has dry to eat we use vegetable oil on it or sardines and he eats it straight away. Just a thought. I know how frustrating fussy eaters can be.
