Hello.

I just looked up the temperature in Colorado. In Colorado Springs it is 19 degrees right now. That is freezing. It is 49 degrees where I'm located, and I think it's freaking cold!!! So, I can imagine how Kona feels trying to sleep outside... shivering...all alone. Poor baby. I'm sorry to say that I agree with the posters in this thread.

I'm begging you to please let Kona back into the house. If not, compromise, what about the garage? Setup her dog house or crate in the garage??

I grew up on an East Texas ranch where animal never I mean never were allowed in the house. Thats what barns were for. In fact we had 2 cow dogs, at the same time, simply named "dog". I've since evolved. No way I could leave Whiskey outdoors over night in 14 degree weather, They have no fur!! I had her in the deer stand hunting with me couple weeks ago, I had to take my jacket off to wrap her up she was shaking so bad and it was 40 degrees out.

ugh!

sorry, but I have to respond to that. The image of a dog wrapped up in a jacket juxtaposed with shooting a poor deer in the head... you may have some more evolving to do, imo.

Kona's inside. And will stay inside.

Vet confirmed what I had read and heard from other owners: Boxers tend to have digestive problems that are, at times, inexplicable. Continue on with the current high quality food. No worms; no parasites to speak of at this point though.

Thank you Backfist for listening and not just tuning everyone out...you won't be sorry. It's not always easy with a boxer but it's worth all the trouble. The love and companionship can't be matched!

Backfist - I am happy to hear that Kona had a good vet visit and is inside. Keep up the work and love that baby like I know you do. I know that some of these post are harsh. I tend to have to bite my tongue at times to keep from getting kicked off. Just know that these people love their Boxers. They are truely knowledgable people that will give their honest opinion at all cost. Most of us work with Rescues and deal with the most horrable neglect possible.

When you are stongly convicted you tend to tell the world. You can not punish people for lack of knowledge or passion for their conviction!

Good Luck and I wish you both the world!

That is great news! :) I truly apologize for any harsh sounding words, but as we all have said we love boxers and just want what is best for them, even the ones that aren't our own! We may be a bunch of overbearing "boxer moms"..... but I am very happy that everyone's advice was taken to heart. Please give Kona a hug from me!
