I have a question for all of you... We have to keep Samus in the bathroom when we are at work for 9 hours. My husband absolutely refuses to put her in a crate because we are gone so long. Well she has a stainless steel water bowl with rubber around the bottom. Every day as soon as we leave she turns it over. I know she is mad at us and that is why she does it but I worry about her not having water all day. I have tried giving her 2 seperate water bowls and she knocks them both over. We have tried to put ice in it too but that doesnt work. Does anyone know what we could do to make her stop knocking it over? she doesnt do it when we are home, only when we leave her.
THANKS!!!:)

Just thought I'd let you know that she's not mad at you. She doesn't have complex feelings like we do. She's probably just playing, maybe she likes the feel of the water on her feet. Sorry, no ideas about the water dish.

what about using raised bowls.? You can by raised stands for bowls from the pet store, this would make it more difficult to spill.:)

When brutus was a pup(of course at 2 yrs, he still is) he would pick up his bowls and bring them into the living room. It was funny to see this little bitty body toting something he could sleep in into the room!! Anyway we got the raised feeder from Petsmart. It hold both the food and water dish with a storage compartment underneath. It works great. You may want to look into something like that. The metal dishes sit down into the top pc. I have also found with Brutus, we can leave him in the house for a couple of hours if we leave the radio or tv on, a chewy for him to chomp on and full access to his toy box. The max we have left him is 4 hours. i would not commend a full nine hours but this might help in getting her used to doing other things to keep occupied over the long day...

turn over waterbowl

Hi, if you're afraid, he won't have water for the whole day, why don't you try filling the tub a little, or put an additional bowl in the tub.

Just an idea....Elke

I am not sure if this will help, but I just wanted to share ...

We always have a bowl of fresh water available for Nash, but she prefers to drink out of the toilet bowl YUCK! I wouldn't worry about Samus not getting enough water, she is probably doing the same thingsmashicon
