We are really worried our 7year old bitch Amber has recently started drinking a very large ammount of water and urinating more, including at night. we took a urine sample to our vets which was very pale in appearance and tests were taken. The vet told us there that she was not diabetic nor were there any traces of blood or protein. The vet then took blood tests and called us the next day, she told us that she has definately got problems with her kidneys and also showing signs that she may also have pyometra. we now have to wait until monday to take her back in for xrays. we asked the vet if she would tell us how bad the problem was and she said she couldn't say. Has anyone else had similar problems? she has also lost her appetite, sometimes vomits back up the water she has drunk and seems alot quieter than usual.

I know exactly what your going through at the moment, Ruby is just coming upto 12mths and has got kidney problems, were under going lots of tests at the moment and she's also drinking and urinating alot. You can read my previous treads on how we have been doing " Took Ruby to the Vets"
She's just started the Hills k/d diet and waiting on another blood test and urine analysis.
It is a very worrying time for you all, I have spent the last two days crying but you've got to be strong and do as much as you can for her.
Have they tested for Thyroid, my last boxer, Jade had this and the symtoms are the same, excessive thirst and urination, just a thought.
Hopefully thing will be ok and we'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you and your baby.
