Kicked out of dog class! Advice?

While your pup does sound like a typical boxer exhibiting typical boxer play, I think an obedience class would be a great thing for your family as a next step. We adopted a one-year-old boxer boy four years ago. It was obvious he was never trained or socialized with other dogs. He is not dog aggressive, but, his play with other dogs is VERY enthusiastic to say the least. Other dogs don't like it (particularly the jumping on the back/head part), except for other boxers (they LIKE to play like that, right?), and other dog owners think he is trying to kill their dogs. So, it's good to get some basic obedience going so, if things start to get a little crazy while he's playing, you have the tools to keep him under control. Good luck!

Sounds to me like your baby and he is only a baby is acting quite normal for a boxer of that age. I won't worry too much. Ali did'nt pass her obedience class when she was 6 months because she clowned around too much. I didn't worry about it and today she's a wonderful and might I add a well behaved girl (for the most part anyway)

I My only worry is that Jackson may whine a bit during the lecture portions, because he'll want to play with the other dogs so badly. I'll definitely try to run him ragged in our backyard before class! And while we're waiting for the next session, we'll work on recall, no jumping up, sit-stays, and things like that at home.

I'm sure he will whine during the lectures. Sometimes I want to !! My boy used to try to slide across the floor and get to the dog next to him-I think he thought I would not notice Sounds like your boy is just fine and you sound like a great pup parent! Good luck
