Kennels - How does it effect a Boxer?

We board at our vet's office. They have nice indoor/outdoor runs and the staff constantly plays and checks on them.
I had boarded a few times at another kennel in our area...and after getting Oscar back this past weekend with red raw paws, a huge rash on his belly and hives all over, never again.
I would suggest checking each place out thoroughly. If you have ANY qualms, do not board there. You will worry and not enjoy your trip.
Get references from people in the area that have used this boarding place also and check them out.
Check with local vets if the kennel is not at your vets office and see what their opinion is. I know I told my vet immediately about the problems that I had with this other boarding kennel so that they would know.
Another tip, board your dog for an overnight stay once or twice before you go. That way he knows that you are coming back for him, and he is used to the sights, sounds and smells before you leave him for an extended period. My pooches are old pros at boarding now.

Test the kennel out with a 1-2 hour play time and see how your babies react to that. Maybe try an overnight stay sometime in the next month or two, again just to see how they react. Some don't mind, others just don't do well in a kennel.

Haven't done the kennel thing, but right now my baby has to stay with my father, due to some serious health issues at our house, and it not being fair to him to be stuck in a 1 bdrm. apartment...
Not to scare you or anything, but he's been having a tough time with it. He's not eating as much, nor as active (not by any fault of my dads....he babies him to death...). Boze does have bad separation anxiety, and vet said this was the main problem right now, so I have to stay away and let him adjust to the new environment.
Can you take them to the kennel prior to leaving them there? I think that might help your comfort level and theirs if they have been to the environment before, instead of just when you leave them there for your wedding. Also, it might be better for them to keep them in one environment the whole time (ie, just the kennel, or just your parents) so there aren't multiple transitions and adjustments involved....
