We have family or friends that are able to come in and let Allie out, or Allie goes and stays with them. She is spoiled rotten.

Leaving a dog alone for 24 hours isn't an option to me. If there isn't a family member, house sitter or kennel available I don't go.

Same with me. I have missed out on vacations and other weekend trips because I DON'T trust anyone with my babies. I hate to admit that but it only takes a second for them to run off or get into a situation by not being watched the way that I watch them. But, then, I am very overprotective. ;)

Believe me you are not the only one when it comes to being overprotective. :) At times I think I am too much but better to be safe than sorry.

I have not been away from my babies yet over night and when we know we are going to be gone for 4 hours or more they go over the their Grandparents house which has only been 2 times.

our girl, Miss Pup, takes care of our house for 9-10 hrs. every working day.
There has never been a single problem. We hire a sitter for her if we are gone anything more then that. However our first choice is always to take her with us. We to have passed on events, in favor of leaveing her. A kennell has never even be a consideration. She and us are happiest with her at home.

I usually take ABBY with me. If there is an emergency and if I know that I'll have to be gone for more than just a day or two, I've got several different good friends that I can leave her with. Thank goodness, nothing like that has ever happened.
