Kayaking with boxers

We just got a tandem kayak and tried taking Levi (our 6 month old) out on it yesterday. He did really well, just sitting next to dad and relaxing and enjoying the ride, but when he finally got comfortable enough to start sniffing around, he lost his footing and slipped right in. Good thing he had his "fido floats" life vest on so we could pull him right back onto the kayak again. I don't want him to be afraid of the water, or the kayak, we're starting him on it now so that he'll be used to it when he gets older, and bigger. Anyone else tried kayaking with their boxer?? How did it go?

We're going on an overnight camping/kayaking trip the end of this week, I'll be sure to get some pictures of Levi in his life vest on the kayak. It's precious really, if he'd just learn that on the boat is better than in the water :)
