K-9 Advantix

We dread the thought of fleas on our baby. I mean DREAD the thought. We were using Frontline, which is what our vet told us to use. So far, we have had NO fleas or ticks since getting Sketchy on Frontline. Well, we ran out,m and this time, the lady at the counter gave us K-9 Advantix. Guess what...We fgound a couple of fleas on Sketch today. Now we are going nuts, I think me more than momma. Anyway, could iut be that K-9 Advantix isn't as good as they say it is? SHould we put him back on Frontline? Could it just be that our neighbor dog is a flea bitten outside dog that never gets attention and sits outside all day? And that since Sketch riubs on him alot across the fence that he got fleas anyway? Next step...What is the best way to get these things off of my baby?!

I use K-9 Advantix on Tyson and it works wonderful for him. i first tried Frontline on him and it didn't do the job. Maybe try switching him back to Frontline if you like the way it worked on him.. Good luck

I found out the answer...

K-9 Advantix is supposedly the better brand, and most vets will tell you that, at least the ones I talked to. THis is a crazy year for fleas, chiggers, etc. Our neighbor dog is just covered with fleas because his lame-o parents never pay him any attention and just leave him outside all the time. THe fact that he likes to play along the fence with SKetchy, and that this is a bad bad year for these buggies, the vets just told me that even K-9 Advantix is not totaly safe when there are overwhelming numbers of these bugs, and that is what we have. We are getting our house and yard bombed, fumigated, whatever you call it, and since this is like a quad style house, all of the people in this quad are gettingit done at the same time, so it doesn't move to any neighbors. Maybe they will start taking care of that lab retriever one day, or maybe I will puppy-nap him and give him some hardcore flea dipping, k-9 advantix placing lovin to the little lad. He is such a sweet dog, and Sketch loves him, but his parents are just bad....

Another K9 Advantix user here. I have not had any problems with fleas on Shelby at all, and I check her regularly. I do feel that it is a quality product.

Why so afraid of fleas?

Keep in mind that Advantix does not stop the fleas from jumping on the dog at all; it simply stops them from biting and kills most adults and larvae. If you're living next door to a flea-infested dog, you're probably going to see a flea or two on your dog from time to time. If they aren't biting and reproducing, it shouldn't be a huge problem.
