Does anyone else ever have the uneducated dog people...saying "Is that a Pittbull", or "watch it kids thats a pittbull"? I am so tired of hearing that, and just wanna know if anyone has any good comebacks!smashicon

Hello, there is another thread like this one going right now also. I am not sure how to link to it, but it was started by Adelle titled I am a Boxer. I think it was in the general forum.
Hope this helps. :)
As for a comeback I just laugh & give them the you must be canine challenged smile and No she is just an overly friendly Boxer.

Haha!! ALL the time! It is funny the amount of people out there who claim to know so much about dogs in general, but not know the difference between a pit and a boxer! When I hear that or get the feeling that they think it, I simply laugh. There is really nothing else to do but educate them about the breed!
There are quite a few people that I've spoken with that now know the differences and are able to point the differences out to people others. I guess that's all that we can do.

Anyone have any other ideas for that? I looked for the other forum but had trouble finding it. I'll keep looking!

I get that all the time too! Especially at the dog park, which is strange. You'd think other dog owners would know the difference between a boxer and a pitt bull.

It's usually little kids that at first almost jump when they see him. They have fear in their eyes, but are curious at the same time. My Louie LOVES... LOVES kids. I don't have any of my own, but he just dig's them! So, when a kid looks curious, yet afraid of Louie I just tell them that he's really nice. Then, I make him sit. And tell the child to come over. Then, I give Louie the "give kisses" command, and Louie just licks and licks them until they're laughing... usually works for me.
