Sirus'Mommy

Super Boxer
I know it's a little different, because they are different breeds, but when Sirus (My boxer) first met Rocky (My parents lab) he was a little rough with him, we had to keep him on a leash around Rocky for about 2 weeks! Sirus was 9 months old as well and Rocky was 8 weeks...so the age difference is about the same between our dogs. Anyway, Sirus just didn't understand that he couldn't play with Rocky the way he plays with his boxer buddies or mommy and daddy, But after about the second week of seeing and being around each other, Sirus finally calmed down and started playing wonderfully with Rocky...now they are inseparable!

Completely Boxer Crazy
This is very normal behavior. I went through the same thing with mine. They will eventually settle down, until they have "boxer bash." Mine have the bash several times a day. It looks and sounds violent, but it is all in play. Even with the size difference between Samson and Delilah, Delilah never got hurt, and enjoyed the rough housing when she was first brought home. Have fun! It sounds like you now have a house full of "kids!" Congratulations!

Boone was 20 months old when we brought Lexus (6 wks) home.
I was really scared that he was going to hurt her when she first came home cuz he could never leave her alone. If he went outside as soon as he came in he had to search the house and sniff her out to make sure that she was OK.
Whenever they "fought" I not

Whenever they "fought" I noticed that he would use his jowls to cover up his teeth so as not to bite her. She of course had no such care for him...the more she bit him the better. LOL Now she is 5 months old and he's just over 2 yrs and they have their "Boxer Bash and Boxer Nascar". I am so glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has babies that tear around the house dodging around furniture. Whenever that happens I just put my feet up and pray nothing gets broken. :D As soon as that starts it stops and they are curled up fast asleep.
It's like they are on a schedule........I know at about 8:30pm every evening the "battle" is going to begin. The playing lasts about an hour and then they are done. Anyone else's babies like that?

Corky's Mom

Boxer Booster
The rough housing can be quite scary if you are not use to it. You think the big one will kill the little one sometimes they way they talk to each other. I know Xena wouldn't hurty Lexi and have got used to the rough housing. I think my carpet will have a race track worn around the coffee table and couch though. It's been 3 weeks since we got the new pup and they haven't slowed down yet! You will have lots of fun with more than 1!

Penni K

Boxer Buddy
We just added Odi to our family on Thursday, Odi is 7 weeks old and Max is 15 mos. The first day, Odi was the aggressor, he was the largest pup in the litter and so he thought he should be alpha and poor Max was an only child! He had no idea what to do with this little guy barking and growling and jumping at his face. The next day, it was Max's turn, he had decided to let Odi know who was boss. It was funny to watch him take just so much from Odi and then WHOMP there went the paw and then he would lay on Odi. Well after 5 days they have gotten things pretty straight and Odi follows Max every where and Max will look for Odi if he disappears. In fact this morning when I let them out to go potty, Odi ran and sat under Max while he was peeing, poor Max looked at me like sorry mom I can't stop! I had to wash Odi before 6 AM today! Give it time and don't let the noisy battles bother you. Good luck with you new baby!!

I'm so there with you! Our 5 month old female is always beating up our 1.5 yr old male. He gets her back good sometimes. It's a whole nother world with two of them.. When one goes in there crate for time out it's so peacefull! When both of them are out - it's a madhouse!smashicon

Hi,

So I guess my question is will she eventually get used to the new situation and start cuddling with us again?

Thanks.

Oh yeah, sorry didnt even answer the question just then. It took less than a month for them to get tired of each other and start craving that attention from us again. Now usually one is in my lap and one is in my hubby's. But I to thought "Oh they don't care about us anymore!"
