He looks like 100% boxer to me - I think the tail is what throws the "boxer look" a little off. He's definitely a cute boy!! Congrats and thank you for rescuing a beautiful boxer - John & Karma

Smell like a Boxer

I agree; if he looks like a boxer and acts like a boxer, he probably is! (The only other test: does he smell like a boxer? hee hee)

He is REALLY a good looking boy! You are so lucky! I was just at the vet with Zoe today (who is not 100% boxer - but at least 1/2). The vet commented on her tail - which is not docked - and said that typically a boxer's tail curls up over his/her back. I noticed your boys certainly does this - I think it is so cute! Zoe's doesn't curl up over her back (vet said it may do this in time) - but she still has fun chasing it! Congratulations on your baby!!! 100% boxer or not he is 100% gorgeous!!!

It looks like there might be a teeny bit of something else in there, but it's hard to say... I thought pitt too, then I also thought that would likely make him shorter, but a little something in some of the facial shots gives hints of it to me. Maybe mastiff but I'm not as familiar with those, haven't met very many in person, so ???
But who the heck cares? If I saw him coming down the street I wouldn't say "oh there goes a 95% boxer" I'd say "There's a boxer! Let's go meet the boxer!!"
And what really matters is you rescued him, which makes you an angel, and automatically makes him part of the boxer family here.
He looks like a loving, wonderful, fun dog... all boxer traits... and he's handsome too!

I've seen many other boxers that people say are full that look less boxer than your baby. The nose is a little long, but that doesn't mean that he isn't a boxer, just not a great breeding.

Not to start anything but I have to disagree with the poor breeding comment. Baron has a longer nose than what most would consider common in Boxers, however he has a very good pedigree, both parents were champions as well as grandparents and several generations back. The standard states that the muzzle be 1/3 the overall length of the head. Some boxers have longer heads than others, that's all. Sorry but had to point that out.

Id say if he was mixed with anything it would be a mastiff, maybe his tail is throwing people off?? He's very cute nontheless

I think he looks like a full boxer. His nose is a little longer, but that could be due to breeding practices. Anyways, he is a beautiful boy and I am sure he will make you very happy.
