Well, two weeks later - Jolie got her ears taped. Last week he (the vet) said they were still raw in a few places - said there's more chance of infection if he tapes them before they are healed. Said come back in a week. (Heavy sigh) So, today, I held my breath while he examined them thoroughly then da-da, out comes the tape and stuff. he wrapped those little ears up nice and straight. She doesn't seem to mind at all. She looks so funny with those pointed little ears all wrapped in white tape. I can't even begin to imagine how she would have been able to stand it if they had been wrapped right after the surgery. It would have been extremely painful. As it is, she doesn't seem to care at all - she knows something is odd but she hasn't figured out yet what it is and she doesn't even try to scratch the tape off. He said he tapes them a week - tape off for a week then come see him and we will see if they need to be retaped. This can go on for awhile - u neve r know - or they may stand up quickly. That would be nice. I asked why we leave the tape off for a week and he said you have to give the ears time to have good circulation. You can't leave them taped up for too long at a time. - Keep your fingers crossed that they stand up nice and pretty. It really hasn't been that bad so far. The only bad part was that first night home after the surgery. She bounced right back (literally) the next day. Just had to watch where she tried to stick her head.
