What a week......Joey has really been busy. Yesterday he ate my cellphone..luckily I got it away from him before he hurt himself with it, like biting into the battery. He did kill the antennae though and a couple buttons..oh well I wanted another one anyway. He has also discovered socks and cat toys.....He is growing so fast. He's much better on the leash now, and also enjoys rides in the care, especially to the "toy store", (Petsmart).

We start basic obedience next week. I'm still not sure just who the obedience class is for,,,,,him or me?!? He is sooooo smart and when he gets into something he isn't supposed to he gets the cutest "so you caught me, but ain't I cute anyway" look, I can't stay upset more than a minute or two.

Hope everyone had a good week and wonderful boxerful days......

Hi Gail
Your Joey sounds a lot like my Buddy used to be. When he was just over a year old Buddy ate not one but two TV converters, batteries and all. There were just a few wires left on the floor each time, to let us know that it was now no where to be found!! Everything passed through him okay, and he has suffered no ill effects from it (he is now 7). The best one was the day he ate the red magic marker, non toxic thank goodness. I found Buddy and my carpets completly RED!! At first I thought he was bleeding really bad, but then I found the evidence. Had to use fantastik on the carpet and Buddy to get it all off. I am not kidding when I say he was red from head to foot!!! My cell phone is kept out of dogs reach, as I have caught him sniffing it at times!!

I am very familiar with that "look" too. Boxers are completely full of mischief, but you gotta love 'em! :D

I'm glad he wasn't hurt! Your post made me giggle though, maybe he was running late and had to call one of his friends?? ;) I know that look too. My family always says, you let Casper get away with murder compared to how you were with Sumi. I say that I'm just mellowing out in my "old" age or that he's only in beginning of training - but I know the truth, it's those droopy little boxer eyes and that wrinkled brow.

What's up with boxer's and telephones? My first foster dog, Soma, had a bad habit of answering the telephone. When I would be at work, I'd call my home, and she would pick the phone up and start whining. I actually caught her in the act when I was home and screening my phone calls. The best explanation I could come up with was that she thought I was trapped in the phone when she heard my voice on the answering machine! But, who knows? She was the most mischievious of all my foster dogs, and definitely one of the smartest. You gotta love 'em!
