Jess Limping Sore Shoulder

:D Hello i would like some advice on my dog JESS she is nine months old and is limping we have had her the vet three times and she has had an X-Ray on both shoulders and he couldnt find anything and says it it a muscle problem and that we have to rest her for three months which is impossible as she is full of beans sometimes she is alright and doesnt limp and sometimes she just limps even when she hasnt been out she can get up from lying down and start limping and i wonder if maybe i just run her she might run it off she will sit there and let you massage her shoulder and it doesnt seem to hurt does anyone have any advice for me she is on RIMADYL AND HAS TO GO BACK THE VET IN TWO WEEKS she has been on them now for two weeks i would like any advice as it is very worrying thankyouappicon

It could be panosteitis, which is also called "growing pains". Has something to do with the membrane that surrounds the bone. It can be quite painful, and they usually grow out of it.

Do a search on it on this site, or do a google search. There is a lot of info available. It's not an uncommon ailment. Ask your vet about it.

Also ask your vet if it could be OCD a condition that happens when dogs grow too fast. If the problems goes away and then comes back it could be OCD. Sometimes they will go in and remove some cartilidge in the shoulder joint to help them out.

Thanks for your advice i will check these two possibilities out i will also ask the vet about these as she has to go back next week so hopefully everything will be alright :D
