OK. So my dog is doing crazy things that he has never done before. First off he is getting into the garbage and throwing it around the house when we aren't home. We've been moving it into the laundry room, but sometimes we forget and of course we come home and it's everywhere. Today he did this along with taking $200 worth of play tickets off of our fridge and almost destroyed them. The other thing is now he is jealous of my boyfriend hugging or touching me or sitting next to me. Dugan jumps on my back and tries to push his hands off me. He will growl at him also. Not really in a mean way, but as if to say "hands off, she's mine." He has never done this before. I was off from work for about two weeks at Christmas time and was thinking that he is going through a separation anxiety. I do try to reprimand him and tell him no, but that doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help me with suggestions with the garbage problem and the jealousy problem. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I would suggest getting a trainer quick! It sounds like your dominant male boxer is pulling a power play. He needs to learn what is acceptable and what isn't. You may also want to crate train him. No dog is too old to be crate trained. With him not having the opportunity to destroy things you will have a much happier relationship with him. You may also want to have your boyfriend around during the training to show your baby that humans are in charge. It's a tough thing to do, but like our skin kids, when they grow up and challenge authority they must learn that it is not acceptable.

1. Boxers are crazy :) But it definitely sounds like he is just pushing the limits to see what he can get away with. You need to have tough love. Boxers need dicipline and rules. They look towards you for this and are most comfortable when they know the rules. I agree that a trainer would probably be great also.

2. LOL---sounds like my own Booker T and my husband. Booker T is jealous of my husband though he would never hurt him. He just loves his mommy and does not want share. I suggest your boyfriend spending quality alone time with Dugan. Let those two find their own bonding without you around. My husband does it with Booker T when I am away. Really helped us out.

Good luck!!
