Jammed/Broken Tail

I am not sure what is wrong with my 9 month old Maximus. He stopped in front of my wife the other night when we were walking and her leg hit his tail. He let a huge yelp and got very skidish. He won't play with his brother now. It has been a little over a day and he still seems skidish. He is eating fine and drinking fine. Could he have jammed his tail or maybe broken it? what can I do to ease his pain and should we make a trip to the vet? (could they do anything for a broken tail? or would it be like a broken human finger?) Thanks so much for your help in advance.

Maybe it will be of some help. Tae acted a bit funny and kept looking back at her tail. Since this episode, she's whacked her tail on the door frame/wall again and hurt it, but it only appeared to bother her for a few minutes...

Hello and welcome to BW. Sorry to hear that your boy hurt his tail. If it's not better in a day or so I would take him to the vet to make sure nothing was damaged. It is an extension of his spine so it has a lot of nerves and there is the possiblity of it being sprained or broken, depending on how hard it was hit and if it was at a strange angle etc.
