We got a record 12.5 inches of snow in the Dallas area yesterday. Despite what I've read about boxers not being fond of the cold, Jake LOVES the snow - pushes it around making snowballs (which he eats) and bounces through it like a deer. I can hardly keep him in. His favorite game is to take his kong outside, toss it up in the air and watch it fall into the snow, then dig madly trying to find it.

Jake spent all morning playing in the snow, now he's curled up beside me on the couch snoozing. Is there anything nicer than a snow day?

Wow 12.5 inches in Dallas...you don't hear that every day. I live in Montana (we get a TON of snow) and my boxer loves it! Rocko is one, and every chance he gets to run through fresh snow he gets all excited and won't come in no matter how cold and wet he is. In fact we take him snow shoeing and X-Country skiing...he is a real adventure I tell you. I too think that it is a myth that boxers and snow don't mix, Rocko love it...but he also loves laying in the sun too. Enjoy your snow while you have it ;-)

From what I've been reading on the board, many of the boxers here absolutely L-O-V-E snow!!! My girl included. She may not care for cold, but snow and cold do not seem to be the same things for her. The snow definitely outweighs the cold!! :)

I'm glad Jake is getting a chance to enjoy snow! I lived in Dallas as a kid and I remember when it snowed maybe all of once. lol... It was about 3 inches and I had so much fun in it. Now, I can't stand it! ha! So enjoy it with him while it lasts.

And take care. We're also experiencing record snow here in the DC/Metro area. And Jayda of course is loving every minute of it! ;)

Sesua, you are not that far from me.
Tyson loves the snow. Last night he kept going to the door, whining. My son, husband and myself took turns taking him out. He loved it. He came in and i put my sons snuggie on him and he loved it. We ate popcorn, and watched Law & Order Special Victims and fell to sleep. By the way that is his favorite show. LOL

So lots of snow for you too huh? And it looks like our pups are pretty close in age. She also wants to keep going out in the snow and goes to the door whining.

Law and Order huh... too funny!! I love the original Law and Order myself. :) Take care and stay warm.

Mine hate the cold and rain but love the cold and fresh snow. once the snow gets crusty then they don't really care.

Our two knuckleheads love the snow also! They hate the rain, but if it's snowing..no problem! The first time it snowed this year (their 1st snow), I reached just outside the door and scooped some snow off of the deck railing and made a snow ball. They were on the deck watching and came running over to see what I was doing. I gave one of them the snowball and they gulped it down like it was the best thing ever. So..I had to make another one, and another, and another. Now whenever they want a snowball to eat, they come and stand with their front paws up on the railing and stare at me, like they are at a bar ordering a drink. Guess the snow on the ground isn't as tasty.

snow

here in WI we get plenty of snow - my favorite was the first time Rocky went outside (probably around 4 months old) when it was really snowing - like big flakes - he kept trying to eat the snow flakes as they were coming down.

Head straight up chomping trying to catch them. I nearly died laughing! He still tries to catch the snow out of the air - but only the REALLY big flakes.

Oh, and Jake made up a new game I call "snow kong". He takes his kong out into the snow, tosses/drops it and watches it disappear into the snow, then digs madly for it. When he finally locates it, he acts like he just won the lottery. Silly boxer.
