Hello All:

I just signed up on the board to try to help bring Jake home. Jake is actually is not technically mine (in-laws Boxer) but he's part of my family. We all miss him and we are trying to find him.

Jake ran off with his brother Skyler on September 30. Skyler came home and Jake did not. Jake is not skittish, but he's definitely not an aggressive dog. He's sweet and friendly, so we are hoping he's safe with someone.

Jake lives outside of College Station, Texas, in the countryside. He was wearing a collar (blue I think) and his rabies tag when he disappeared. He has a very "crooked face" which makes him all the more endearing. He's mostly brindle I think.

We've been checking the local shelter and signs were posted immediately, but still, no Jake.

If anyone hears anything about a brindle Boxer with a crooked face, please let me know!

Hello there again. Jake's official description:

- male, neutered
- brindle with white chest
- cropped ears
- crooked nose
- wearing a blue collar

Missing 9/30 from East of Bryan.

There's also a tiny picture of him as my avatar.

I haven't been trying the local vets! Why didn't I think of that? Thank you so much for suggesting that! I'm getting on that right now.

Thanks so much Mandi. A couple of things I forgot:

Jake is 6 years old.

He was NOT wearing any tags(!!!) because he went through colars so fast (not sure how he kept getting out of them), so he'd lost his tags. He may have also gotten out of the blue collar he was wearing....

I'm phoning vets now. Perhaps I can fax them the "lost" sign to post if they have a board.

Thanks again,

~Victoria~

Thanks Melissa. I hope Frog's message gets through! It's encouraging to hear they are still out there after 11 weeks.

No, Jake isn't microchipped. I always encourage everyone to get their babies chipped (mine is), and I think this will be the impetus my in-laws need to get all their pets chipped. Hopefully Jake will find his way home soon, and when he gets his welcome-home checkup he can get his chip.

Thanks for the thoughts. It really is encouraging.

I know on petfinder you can also post a lost/stolen dog. I've done this with a cat I found in my yard that I knew was someone's and not just a stray.

Sending our prayers and hugs to you and your baby Jake.

Yes, Brazos county. He's missing in Texas in the United States (there's only one Texas, isn't there?). We still haven't found Jake, but I will never give up hope. His official mom (my sister-in-law) has lost some hope, but I just feel he's still out there somewhere.

I'm traveling a lot right now, so not able to check the board as regularly as I like, but I'll keep you all posted....

Thanks for the support everyone.

I asked "What County, not Country."

Have you tried www.petfinder.org classified ads, under "found?" There are quite a few boxers and other description of dogs in your area that are brown/black in the ad. Some people don't know that boxers come in brindle. I know I didn't until I researched them.

Once again, we're praying for his return. Good luck and don't lose hope.
