I took Izzy to the doggie ER at 2:30am and am now home without her and it's 5:30 am. I am crying my eyes out. They did x-rays and didn't see any CD pieces, but she has air in her intestines, in her small intestines and colon... they don't know why. They also can't see details on her pancreas. They wanted to keep her and do more tests and bloodwork. He thinks she may have pancretitis, or gastroenteritis, or a bleeding ulcer. He said it could be from the rimadyl, but is not sure. They are running a regular blood workup and also a test for her pancreas. I am so so worried. I thought I would just take her in and they would say she was fine and send her home. My poor baby is still a baby. Please pray for her and that she comes home and everything is fine. I don't even want to think about the worst that could happen. Hopefully, they call me soon and say I can come pick her up.

i am so very sorry to hear about izzy, as you know i just went through what you are going through with chloe. she had pancreatitis but hers was very acute, what i did learn though that it is treatable, in my case chloe was an older dog, but your izzy is young she has youth on her side. if treated like chloe she will be on a stomache calmer and given heavy doses of antibiotics to help her stomach along it will take a few days so dont give up, chloe was also given pain meds daily so im sure izzy is also, they also said it was given for a precautions since we cant sometimes tell when our babies are in discomfort. please know im praying for you and izzy and im hoping she is home with you very soon. please let us know how she is doing? take care of yourself also.

I hope everything turn out ok. But I will tell you when Sophie was a little over 1 she had a bout with pancreatitis, I thought we were going to lose her. I finally took her here and they really did a fantastic job with her. She is now 9 1/2, and still going strong. Chased down a rabbit today, much to my dismay, but still has it in her.

I am glad that you took Izzy to the emergency vet and hoping and praying that your baby will be fine.

I am sorry if I came on strong about the Rimadyl, but I trusted my vet and never checked into the drug. Crystal was on Rimadyl much longer than Izzy. If I knew then what I know now I truly believe that Crystal would still be here. I just freak everytime I hear that another fur baby is on that drug.

Sending lot and lots of healing vibes to Izzy and hugs to you.

I am still waiting to hear from the vet. They are giving her anti-nausea medication and IV fluids. I think she is in pain because she does this thing where she pants and on the exhale when she breathes, she shakes. She also had a high pulse rate, but that might be because of where she is. I will post again when I get the results of the bloodwork.

Christy, thanks for the info. I am outside of Cincinnati and she is at a place called the CARE center. It's an ER and they also have specialists. I trust them. She had both her knee surgeries there.

Thanks for all your concern and healthy healing vibes.

No, it's ok. I have always been leary of these drugs and should have stuck with my gut instinct. She will never take them again, EVER , thats for sure.

I forgot to mention that she also lost 3 pounds since last week. She was just there last Monday to see the specialist for her knee.

Izzy is a young baby and that is in her favor. You know that she is being well cared for and that they will do all they can to get her back on the road to good health.

Good thoughts and healing vibes.........................................
