Deborah Lobe
Boxer Pal
Greetings!
I was looking for forums on health issues with Boxers and discovered this site. I live in Washington State and have 2 Boxers, Ruby who is a light brindle and is 7 years old, and her son, Sam who is a reverse brindle and is 5 years old. They visit with 2 of Sam's sisters nearly every week. The sisters are Topaz (a fawn) and Winnie (Brindle) and they belong to my son.
I've had Boxers since the early 1980's when I adopted my first - Alice. I love Boxers! They are wonderful family pets - very devoted and smart. I didn't think I could get another after I lost Alice, but, then I realized how lonely it was....and along came another (Tiffany) and then another (Tigger) and now it's Ruby & Sam.
Recently, Sam hasn't been feeling so great. The vet has been trying to figure it out. He's been drinking lots & lots of water and his appetite has been poor. He's lost some weight - which isn't all bad, because an 82 lb. Boxer is pretty hefty! X-rays look good, thyroid is normal, all the blood work has been normal. An iv seemed to help for a few days and then it's back to lethargy, drinking water and no appetite.
This is a great web site and I'm glad to have found it! I hope you'll join me in saying a prayer for my Sam - he's such a joy to my husband and I and we hope to have him for many years to come.
