Hi everyone, well, We went to the vet on Friday, the vet gave him a shot of ivermectin. He said it is an alternative treatment for the Demadec. He started him on Cephalexin three times a day to help with any secondary skin infections.
I have been putting Aloe on his raw spots and it seems to be helping. I got some Betadyne/Aloe shampoo and that helps a little. He is nice and shiney if nothing else.
I am going to start giving him the yogurt to help build his immune system.
The vet called today to see how he was, I told him Scratching like crazy. He thinks allergy testing is the next step. At this point, I am all for it. Unfortunately it is a 3 hour drive to Colorado to have this done, but he is worth it. He will love the ride.
Let me know if anyone has any suggestions for building the immune system or if you have any experience with allergy testing or shots.
Thanks!
