Issues with his pooping...

Cedric is 8 months old. We've had him about two months.

Since we got him and with two different foods he has a firm poop in the morning, a soft runny one in the afternoon and a mostly liquid diarrhea type in the evening.

I didn't see this with my previous dogs (Boxers) and he's healthy in every other way.

Any suggestions or should I just live with it?

My guess would be the food. You mentioned two different foods. Are you feeding both at the same time or separately? Maybe one of the two doesn't agree with him.

Two different foods in as many months is most likely the culprit. I would settle on one and see how that goes. While you're getting adjusted, you can add 1 tablespoon of canned pumpkin to his meals to firm the poop. Be sure to get the canned pumpkin and NOT the pie mix. And don't use more than 1 tablespoon per meal or you will really have messy poops. Hope this helps.

He was on Eagle Holistic Puppy when we got him and we kept it up for another 6 weeks. Messy poop. Then we switched him to Orijin Puppy. He's been on it for about 3 weeks now. He's gaining weight and his energy level is higher but same messy poop.

I'll try the pumpkin.
