Is Yours a Licky Loo Too?

The night we went to meet Cassius's parents, we were so surprised at how much they licked us! It was as if we had liver lotion on This was to be our first boxer, and had no idea our new baby Cassius would be a Licky Loo just like mom and dad. We've had him a year, and it seems like he's licking more than ever! Does any one else's baby do this? And do you know if it is affection? I just LOVE his sweet kisses, but sometimes we have guests who aren't as receiving of his love....Their loss! Just out of curiosity how many boxers love to lick?

Luka isn't so bad- he gets a little carried away when licking the couch or my pants, but I can give him a toy and he'll stop.
My friend's, however. have an Akita and he is a crazy licker. Obsessivly. It's wierd. (But feels funny in the summer with sandals )

Daisy doesn't lick anyone but "her" family... She loves to lick my daughter... But not so much me... I guess because I don't have food on my face half of the time or smell like sugar... Daisy usually just hugs and kidney beans you or does the boxer lean

Both mine love to lick. I've heard that when they lick you when they are puppies they are saying, "feed me" and when they lick you as adults it means, "you're the boss". I don't know if that's true, but I have two lickers. Hogan slips you the tongue and sometimes nibbles your nose. Hilda soaks your face and doesn't stop until she's satisfied that she got every spot.

Koda loves to lick my husband, I'm not sure if it's him loving him or him cleaning him.... I think he likes the feel of my husbands face when he hasn't shaved. And of course my husband just eats it up.

He doesn't really lick me all that much unless I have just put on lotion or my body spray, then he licks me like crazy.

I personnely don't like my dogs to lick me so I teach them to give me kisses by nudging me with their muzzle. lovicon Once in awhile Koda will get really excited and lick me but usually he's really good at giving me kisses the way I taught him.

I just love dogs that are so affectionate though...:D

Austin's a big licker. He licks your face, arms, legs, and even Katie's stinky feet!

Tae will lick almost anything I put in front of her at eye level. If it's food, though, she sniffs it first. Otherwise, she gives it a lick. Cracks me up. I stick my face in front of hers and she licks me. If I lie down flat on the floor, we have an episode of attack of the tongue. Tae goes nuts and I must fight her off!

Bronx licks more than any other boxer I have had. He was 8 months old
when we got him, and his tongue is sooo long. When he gets sleepy in
the evening, about two inches of his tongue lays on the carpet. I am used
to it, but my friends and even my Mom gets tired of it. They let him lick and
then they go wash, and he'll get em before they even sit back down. He's
definately got an oral fixation!

Cami could have turned into a "licky-loo" but I have always hated even the thought of being licked!
That being said, WELCOME TO BOXERS! Now, the licks are "kisses" and I love them. They are only given upon greetings and when asked for, (which turns out to be alot LOL)
My cat licks our faces during the middle of the night. I don't know which is worse....slobber or sandpaper tongue!

Guinness was born to lick.. he kisses us all the time...and the best boxer kisses are when they know your upset and lick you until you have to smile...
