Kody is chipped. I did it when he was small, actually the same visit that he had his ears done.
You will be glad you did it! It just gives me a peace of mind.

good info

I was just wondering about it myself as Taylor had her vet visit and they asked. I guess I just always thought that nobody would bring her in if they found her, that they would just keep her. UNTIL....we were leaving the vet office that day and a lady brought in 2 dogs and had them both scanned. One was chipped and the other not. Wow. The odds that happened that day I was in. I took it as a sign and am going to get it done!

i rescued Maci and the next day i marched her down to the vet to be looked at and asked the vet to chipped her there and then!!! I am a firm believer in the microchipping process

Maci didn't even noticed when the vet injected it in the problem i had with her was that she was kidney beaning all over the place as she was so happy to be out of the kennels and had a nice home and was fed well (she was starved and majorly underweight when i saved her)

Harley is not chipped, but he will be getting chipped next month when he gets his shots!

It was offered when we had him fixed, but I never saw the need, because Harley is an inside dog and he only goes out if I go with him.

But after Frog's story, I think its important, you just never know. Spud will be chipped in a few months when he gets neutered

Luka is chipped with AVID and thank goodness. We were on vacation in June when he ran out the door at 11pm and was missing til 9am the next day. We called the shelter and they had him- but the shelter had already identified him via the chip and would've called us when they opened.
Can't go wrong with it!

Ginger is not chipped yet but will soon be. I had a Rottie before & she was chipped. Never had any probs with the chip & it never seemed to bother her.

Both dogs and both cats are chipped (with three different kinds). None of them had any sort of reaction.

My vet is not chipping any pets right now. He says there is a battle going on between the two biggest chip companies right now. He thinks AVID is going to be the one that comes up on top, but he is going to wait and see before he charges anyone else, and knows for sure that he is putting the right chip in.
Not all the chip places us the same scanner and they are trying to make one universal one.

Radar is chipped (his breeder chipped him before he came home) but Tati isn't. We are planning to have her (and the cat-butts) chipped ASAP.
