Is your boxer a "Sniffer"?

I have a cute story about my Kanin. Every night when his daddy gets home from work, Kanin is so excited. He jumps on the door and scratches at the window til I let him out. He then runs out to the truck and daddy opens the door and lets Kanin in. Kanin smells him all over, from his head to his feet. We laugh every nite at Kanin, and daddy always tells him "No, daddy didn't cheat on you." It is so cute to see Kanin do this every night. The funny thing is that he doesn't do it to mommy. I guess he knows mommy wouldn't cheat on him, HAHA!! He has to check daddy's truck out too, he walks around the truck smelling it also, and has to mark his territory on every tire, every night. Is my dog crazy? or are there more like him?!

Norton was a major sniffer, when he finished giving you the once over, he'd snort either his satisfaction/displeasure at whatever he "discovered" on you and then would sigh and walk away! Gracie does it a bit, and she always has her nose to the ground checking things out!

Rocky is a big time sniffer! He makes the sniffing noises but doesn't actually sniff us (I hope that makes sense). He does it the most when we come home when he's excited to see us or when he wakes up. We always know when he wakes up because we hear him sniffing in the other room. It's so cute.

Blizzy was a sniffer..on both me and the hubby. Since my hubby has to go into peoples homes for work..when they had a dog my girl would sniff like mad and then snub my hubby.. having nothing to do with him.

When I would visit my best friend (she has a Rottie) Blizzy would sniff..and then eyeball me all night..she was so jealous.

Sniffer

Iggy will give my hands the once over then lick every inch of them trying get off the smells of the day.......when he's content that oonly his scent is left.. then he'll move on.....

Precious is a big sniffer too, it is so cute. I always know when another dog has peed in our yard, she sniffs like crazy in that spot and of course she then pees there. And when there's yummy food cooking, she looks like Scooby Doo in the cartoons - it looks like her head is floating and I can just see that scent wafting across the room and under her nose. When I come home from being around another dog she buries her nose in my pants, same when a dog owner is here. Sniffing is one of her most endearing qualities, I don't know why, but I find it to be so adorable, she's like a little detective.

Oh, mi God! Huicho would give everyone a run for their money on the biggest sniffer category. He loves to sniff our grocery bags and packages we receive. He also sniff things around the house. He does this funny thing where he sticks his nose right on whatever interesting scent he found and he does these short sniffs, followed by a deep and intense inhalation, and he culminates with a long, snot-filled exhale. Gross! Do other people's boxers have the same routine?

The absolute worst is when we have visitors and he sticks his nose right on people's crotches (men or women, pants or skirt!) and he does his short sniff/long, deep sniff routine. He's so rude! But he makes us laugh (and some of our guests, too!)

One of my best friends and I just came back to my house from butchering hogs. Kanin met us at the door. We started carrying in the hog to put it in the freezer. Kanin just absolutely luvs Sunshine, so we had to stop and let them play for a few minutes. She told Kanin she better help mommy and next thing you know Kanin has his head buried in her crotch. We both got to laughing so hard we were crying. Crazy dog!!

Brutus is a sniffer too. He walks around just sniffing. He sniffs my pants when i get home, he sniffs my GF. He sniffs just everything. It's funny because I'm thinking does he smell something he didn't smell yesterday?? But i guess it's just a boxer thing. we'll never know the reasoning

Buddy will only sniff me or my clothes when he smells a different dog. Any other time, he doesn't bother with us. He will kiss us but not sniff very much.
