I guess I just need to get more information on the probability of fleas/ticks in our areas before deciding.

I have to do the same. What do you think is the best way of going about it?

My dog reacts horribly to Advantix. It looked like nuclear explosion on his back - and took 4 months to clear up.

Luke had alot of problems before we switched him to raw. I had him on the Advantage too but then took him off of it b/c he had skin issues on his feet constantly. I am not certain that it was caused by that, but I don't give it to him anymore. Now he is all natural They say that Brewers Yeast helps too, but I found that it was drying out Luke's coat very badly. So now I just give some garlic every now and again.

Some dogs are seems to attract fleas & ticks more than others
