Is this the terrible teens or is he just out of control?

I've often thought that sometimes they just sense things that we can't. Season changes, our homonal changes, stress in our lives....things like that. Mine can be so well behaved for days or weeks on end then all of a sudden BAM! I know how you feel. There are days when I come home and instantly start yelling at them. Then later they are all cuddly and I have to apologize because it seems like all I do is yell.

Completely Boxer Crazy
Well, surprisingly, last night went pretty well. I had to go home after work to feed an potty them and could only be home 45 minutes before I had to leave for another 2 1/2 hours (work stuff). I thought he was going to be a holy terror from being locked in his crate for so many hours. When I got home, they ate and played for a minute and then I did some mental training with both of them. I would make them sit/stay or down/stay in the kitchen and then I would hide bits of turkey in the living room. I would then release them and tell them to "find." Roscoe loved it, he would have his sniffer to the ground looking for that turkey. Blayne, on the other hand, just gets so excited when you release her that she just runs to you and forgets about whatever else is going on :D We did that for about 10 minutes before I had to leave. When I got home, we played fetch in the house as much as we could and then him and Blayne played alone for awhile. I didnt have to get upset with him at all (except at bedtime when he climbed under the bed and was chewing on the box spring!)!!

Jagers Mommy

Boxer Buddy
Oh my goodness! We're going through the EXACT same thing! Jager was neutered 10 days ago and he's gone nuts!!! Oh, he was sooo sweet the first two days he came home, he was so tired and sore, so he just cuddled with me on the couch! Perfect! But for the past 5 days or so he's been running around the house like a mad man, and going after all the things he knows he shouldn't! It's like everything he learned this past year went away with his testicles!! ARG! I'm so glad to hear you're in the same boat (I mean, it's a bad boat to be in!) but I know how you feel! I've had to go outside so many times this past week just to cool down. I've screamed way too much, and I thought I was going crazy! I've also smoked way to many cigarettes (NOT good!)
So, it's good to hear people on this thread talk about their pups calming down around 2-3 years old! I can't wait for that!
But right now I can't wait til he's all healed up and we can try to go on some walks . . .that's a joke in the first place, HE walks ME, and I'm tired within 5 blocks! haha! But we're working on that, and he's getting better a little at a time! I love him too much to stay mad for too long, I mostly cherish our mornings before I go to work, we don't have much time, but I take him potty and stand in the kitchen with him while he eats breakfast and he's so sweet! He'll come lean on me and give me upside-down kisses, and then I must put him away and go to work, and I miss him all day, then I come home and he's CRAZY! Ugh! Such a roller coaster!

My Gus is going thru this too!!!! He is driving me nuts!! He is 8 months old and just got nuetured and is being such a bad boy now. He is crazier than ever and to make it worse, he is getting Izzy (my 2 yr old girl boxer) going too. He has also started humping Izzy's head!!! Silly boy. He has never done that before. Izzy just keeps playing like she doesn't even notice him, heheh! Gus started lifting his leg in the house, but thankfully that stopped!!! Gus has also been finding all kinds of things to tear up around the house, especially paper! I am just not use to this stuff cause Izzy NEVER chewed a thing! People always tell me I was just lucky with my little Izzy. When Gus was a tiny puppy, he did chew some, but it seems worse now. He has been thru class, but we are starting next week in the Intermediate class... hopefully that helps! I also need to start walking him now that he is healed. He is also doing goofy stuff outside. When I tell him to come in, he will come to the door like he is coming in, and the second I open the door and tell him to come in, he takes off... he does this several times. He thinks he is just so funny. Izzy went thru this teenage phase as well, but not as bad as Gus!!! He is a crazy boy! Izzy is my perfect angel, hehe. I am trying to work with Gus to help him remember the basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, down/stay, sit/stay) and Izzy is such a show off that she does them all, hahah. She is way too funny. I say, "Gus, come" and Izzy comes running and sits right by me. Then, if I don't give her a treat, she keeps giving me her paw, hehehehe. She is a doll. Gus just back talks me. I need to start doing it on leash so he can't run away from me and bark at me... that drives me nuts!
I love them to death no matter how crazy they drive me.
