Boxer Pal
2 days ago me and my boyfriend bought our second boxer pup. We have a 12 week old fawn male and now we bought a 5 week old brindle fawn female. With our male the breeders told us that they didnt start selling their pups until they were over 6 weeks old. But with our female the breeder let them go before they were even 5 weeks. As we have just the 2 pups and have never had boxers or any pups before we were just wondering if we took her too soon from her mother. She eats solid food but like emotionally will she adapt alright since she is so young and so little. She seems to be doing alright, we just wondered, so if anyone can help we really appreciate it

5 weeks old is way too young to have been taken from the litter. Sounds like the breeder is highly irresponsible and simply does not want to properly care for her puppies. Those poor babies. It is actually illegal in many states for the puppies to leave the breeder until 8 weeks of age. I suggest you put the responsibility back to the breeder and call them about this. That pup could not have even had its first puppy shots yet.

I would guess this breeder also does no true health testing :(

I quote: "A good breeder will not send you home with a puppy under the age of 8-10 weeks old, this goes even further for toy breed dogs. A toy breed puppy should not leave the breeders home until they are at least twelve weeks of age. Up until this time, the puppy is in a crucial socialization phase and should not be separated from the litter. A breeder who sells puppies 4,6 & 7 weeks old do not have the best interest of the pet in mind."
