Both mine have eye boogies in the morning. Once I give them there Wake Up Face Wash they usually are good for the day. My female did have the conjunctivitis (sp?) and we had the gel to put IN her eyes not under her eyes. Every couple of months she seems to get this and I have the gel so I put it in 2x a day for a week and it clears up beautifully. I put a little on the tip of my finger and open her eye and put it on the edge of her bottom eyelid. Then close her eye and rub it a little. That's how my vet showed us to do it. Also I agree with the teething thing she had more then also. And if you think about it babies usually get a fever or cold when their teeth are coming in.

Panzer has eye boogers from chronic conjuctivitis.

Our vet has said that his eyelids "turn in" and are aggravating his eyes, causing the eye boogers. In the near future we plan on taking Panzer in to have this surgically repaired (tacking the eyelids, she called it).

I've heard that Boxers are prone to have boogers because they are a short nosed breed... and when they sleep, it just collects in their nasel and eye passages...

Also, there is a huge difference between feeding BARF and regular kibble. Mine will get major boogers when they are on kibble, but wake up with nothing when they are eating BARF.

I'm with you BooBoo I have heard the samething, Iv'e been told it's nothing to worry about...Sadie has it every morning she wakes up.

Tae developed bad conjunctivitis last winter. I have gas heat and it gets very dry at night. My vet surmised the dryness irritated her eyes. I was given an ointment to put in Tae's eyes and told to get a humidifier.

I also wash Tae's wrinkles under her eyes every other night so she doesn't get too much uchy stuff there! A warm wet wash cloth works great and she loves it--NOT!

I don't think eye boogies in general are anything to worry about, but a couple of years ago when I took my baby to the vet for her annual check up I mentioned them. The vet turned her bottom eye lids out and showed me the inside of them. They were all red and bumpy. He called it fallicular conjunctivitis (sp). She had to have surgery. He called it scraping her eyelids. I don't go to that vet anymore because of issues I had with him later so I don't know if the proceedure was even needed at the time. He gave me ointment to put in her eyes after the surgery so maybe that would have cleared it up all by its self like every one else is posting. I hate to think that my buba had to go through that for nothing, but he said that she felt like she constantly had an eyelash in her eye. How horrible!

Max has been on premium dry kibble and he still has the eye boogers, the vet said that is the nature of the breed and as long as it was not discolored no problem. He did mention the dryness and certain seasonal allergies, all in all just a inconvenience, we keep towels around as to clean his eyes and wipe his jowls after drinking.
