Regardless of what you want your boxer to be, he is going to be the size he is meant to be. Boxers come in all sizes from very small to very large. Depends on breeding and genetics, mom and pop, etc.

Stop worrying so much about your dog's weight. Just give it good, nutrious food, and let nature take its course. Please don't over feed your boxer. That is very unhealthy and can cause other serious health risks.

Relax.

Boxers are a MEDIUM breed, here and in Europe. (breed standards here and those around the world, Europe included, are virtually the same)

Im not sure what American Boxers you are looking at, but any well-bred boxer that meets breed standards here and across the world, will look the same. (top show dogs here, and in Canada, in the UK, Austrailia, and etc.. look very similar) Your article seems Anti-NA (talking about the shows, and handlers, and the dogs), and above all is just someone's oppinion. (so take that for what its worth). If you want a good comparison of boxers around the world, check out WorldWideBoxer.com

as to your pup. 10.8lbs at 7.5 weeks sounds fine. As long as he/she is eating well, playing and acting like a healthy pup, i wouldn't worry. I wouldn't worry too much about trying to put extra weight, or muscle on it at this point. Boxers take 2 (sometimes even 3 yrs for males) to fully mature, and fill out. Bulking up a puppy will only harm its natural growth, putting too much pressure on its joints/bones. hope that helps.

ps. Inbreeding is done all over the world, if done right, by a professional that knows his/her lines very well, it can be beneficial to the breed. (obviously if done wrong, like by a BYB, it can be very detrimental) Line-Breeding is much more common, but still needs to be done under the watchful eye of a professional. AND, there seems to be a growing number of NA breeders looking to Outcross their breedings.. just FYI. ;)

My puppy ( male) is very active and happy dog.
He looks normal , our vet agrees.

We got him when he was only 5 weeks old. His weight was 5.2 lbs. He gained 5.6 lbs for 3 weeks. His weight is 10.8 Lbs now.

He is a very picky eater. Breeder fed him with Iams. After reading posts on this Great web site ( Thanks a lot BTW) we switched him to Canidae first and later to wellness which he likes better.

He only seems to like his food only if we add some worm milk into it. We know that cow milk is not good for the dog , so we are doing it in small amounts once a day.

My concern is after reading different websites, that boxer at 2 months of age should be between 7 - 8 Kg ( 15.4 - 17.6 Lbs).

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I'd say your boxer is just fine, from your description. They will grow, as humans do, at different rates. My last boxer Gunther didn't fully mature and fill out until he was three. He was bred for conformation and weighed 77 pounds(not a "large" male). He looked phenominal, and had all the energy spirit, drive, love (for everyone) that I could have hoped for. Because he was so well proportioned he looked "bigger" than he was. I wouldn't get caught up in the weight thing, I'm sure your boy now does and will look great. I have a 7 mo old show prospect that is 24 inches at the withers and 64 pounds. He is going to be big (is already) and I'm worried about his proportions ect. for the show ring. He is also a lot more stubborn than my last boxer and this makes things difficult with a bigger dog as well. Boxers are not meant to be big, just to look it. Hang in there I'm sure you'll be more than happy with him.

His father is average German boxer about 90 lbs, and his mom is american about 65Lbs.

Of course he is loved as it is and always will be regardless of his size.

It just i am used to lager european vs. smaller american boxers.
