Hi,

We're looking into adopting a puppy. The rescue group knows nothing about his parents; he was surrendered at 3 weeks of age (he's 12 weeks now). He looks like a boxer puppy to me, but I've never seem one outside of google (at the shelter I work in, we almost always just get pit mixes). What do you all think? Is there boxer in there? See any other breeds mixed in?

Thanks so much!

I would say boxer mix. But there may not be much boxer in there. He doesn't strike me as having pitbull in there at all, which so many of the bully mixes seem to these days.

That blue eye indicates something that either has some merle genetics (several breeds have merle) or husky in there somewhere.

For some reason I see herding dog in there - but don't quote me on that! It's purely a guess. haha! But the merle could be coming from an Aussie or something like it...

Very hard to tell at this age.
It'll be interesting to see what he grows into!

He's a cutie. I love that little black ear!

It's possible it could be a boxer mix. The ear is black, so he is definitely not a purebred. There is not much of stop on his nose either. My guess would be pit or bull dog mix.
