I'm very new to BARF feeding, Sylas is now 11 Weeks. I have been tinkering with a few recipes of my own and would like some expert opinions on whether they are ok? The 1st is I make a homemade loaf. I use a kilo of raw ground chicken mince from reputable pet food shop, blitz some cooked potato, carrots, pumpkin, peas, add to mince with raw egg and a couple cups of kibble. Then I wrap it in foil (just like making garlic butter) and put it in the fridge. It firms up and becomes just like a bought loaf. I just slice it up and he loves it. I have also sauted a kilo beef pieces, add to that potato, carrot etc as above, about 1/2 cup brown rice and enough water so that the rice cooks and it reduces into a lovely thick gravy. He gobbles this up. I get quite a few feeds from this. My other dogs think it's Xmas. He also gets chicken necks, wings and raw beef. Am I on the right track with him? Is he getting all the vitamins, minerals, proteins he needs etc? We struggled the first week as he had terrible diarrhea, I started this diet and now his poos are lovely!

It sounds fine to start with, but you need more variety in his diet. You need to add some red meat, like beef. Some other things that you can add are pork, lamb, and turkey. You also need to add some offal.
