Hello, I own a boxer puppy and I read almost everywhere that they are supposed to be very playful and energetic. I'm wondering if this is normal for a boxer puppy 8 wks old? I think it is but i'm not sure and i rather be sure...
My girl (now 11 months old) never slept a lot. She played hard but slept hard. A 3 hour long play session would result in about a 20 minute "recharge" nap.
She has never been one to sleep just to sleep. She has to be really good and tired and then will fall asleep standing or sitting up.
Some need more sleep than others though so I'd ask your vet when you take your pup in for it's first check up if everything seems okay otherwise.
My baby sleeps quite a bit at 11 weeks, but she had her vet check-up yesterday and the vet says everything looks great She slept ALL the time when I first got her, and each week it's a little bit less time sleeping. As long as everything else seems normal and her vet check-up was fine, I wouldn't worry.
Dogs sleep alot, about 3/4 of the time. Puppies sleep even more. I wouldn't be concerned, though it wouldn't hurt to consult with your vet. Better safe than sorry.
Thanks u guys i HAVE noticed that she sleeps less every time, just like SnowDove's puppy, and follows me a bit more :3... ill still check with her vet just in case xp
Is he/she playful when awake? Is he /she eating and drinking? As long these two things are happening I wouldn't worry. If not the a trip to vet is order.

Wish mine would sleep!!! He is hell on wheels for hours on end, I can only hope he would sleep 3/4 of his life. That said, I love him and would not trade him for the world.
LOL xD i bet i will miss the calmness later on xp and yes she does eat when i feed her and drink water all the time. she is also playful when she is awake so i'm guessing it's all normal :3 she's just a baby after all xD
My 7 month old sleeps a lot, but he plays hard as well. There's no such thing as an awake and bored Icarus. If he's not eating or playing, he's sleeping.
