Boxer Pal
ok, i am a bit confused. after all of the reading i have done, it seems that boxer pups are pretty rambunctious and need alot of work. i knew this when i chose a boxer. the problem is, atticus is doing very well and i am wondering is he gonna get worse eventually? he is 9 weeks old today. and he runs like a mad man, sometimes, and drives the shih tzu a bit crazy, he has decided to see exactly how mad the cat will get before she swats him. but he is doing good with his potty training, he slept with the through the night last night without a potty break. he isn't chewing stuff nearly as bad as i was prepared for him to. and with 4 kids there is alot of stuff on the floor. and he is very responsive to my commands and has already learned his name. his breeder said that he was one of the more active wild puppies in the litter. could it be that living with 4 kids 8 and under and a zoo of other pet has made me more tolerant? or is my baby just starting off on the right track?
is he going to get worse than he is now? or will he stay as good if i keep up with the training? i guess i am wondering if there is some age that boxers get to before they start being wild maniacs:)

It sounds like you have enough going on in your house to keep him busy and occupied. It's mostly when they are bored that they act up and chew things and misbehave. Must be having all those children keep him pretty busy...when one kid is tired, your puppy will move on to the next :)

I think if you keep up the positive training and let him know what he should play with and ultimately set him up for succes by not allowing him access to things he should not play with or get into (to the best of your ability, of course) you will defiinitly be on the right track.

Your pup will definitly have moments, days, or weeks, where he'll test you and seem to just forget things you've taught him but at those times just remain firm and consistent with your training and he will understand what is and what is not allowed.

I definitly agree with Guyco - this breed is unlike any other. have fun with your puppy!

I agree!!!! Chief is almost 6 months and he has been a complete gentleman! Unless Sam's not around or one of us isn't playing with him and he's bored! Then he'll run around and find socks or anything he can to get your attention! I think as long as there's enough action to keep them occupied, they're not looking to misbehave.
