Hi,
I live in Rhode Island also. I have been trying for a long time to find another boxer owner nearby to chat with. So glad you posted. I do put a coat on Bella. I finally found one that fit at Petsmart. It has a quilted outside witha reflector stripe and is fleece inside. It is too cold for them to be outside for any length of time.
It would be nice to do a boxer play date with the two dogs.

We have a jacket for BabyGirl, but we usually only put it on her when its raining or snowing, mainly to keep it off her skin, especially since she has Seasonal Flank Disorder and her bald spots get really cold to the touch. She doesn't like shoes on her feet so we took those back, but she doesn't like to stay out much in the cold.

We got her coat at Petco last year....you just have to look for the larger sizes, which are sometimes hidden or hard to find.

Hi, I live in Connecticut and have 2 different coats and booties for my boxers. I put them on when the temp gets to freezing or below to keep them warm on our walks. I have fleece coats that were special ordered from www.fidofleece.com. The 2nd coat is a water and wind repellent nylon shell with insulation and a fleece lining. It fastens in the front with velcro and a buckle and has 2 straps that crisscross underneath their belly. It's high quality, well made, very warm and keeps them dry. The coat is made by Foggy Mountain Dog Coats. Their website is www.dogcoat.com. If you are familiar with horses they are very similar to a horse's turnout coat or blanket. The only booties I have found so far that actually stay on their feet are Muttluks. The velcro straps need to be cinched tightly. They come in 2 kinds - all weather and fleece lined. They aren't cheap but do protect their paws from the snow, ice and salt.

Thank you all so much. Neva and I will be shopping this weekend and I will post a pic of her wearing it. You all had some great input. I was just leary of the whole coat thing. I'm not a dress up your dog kind of chick! No Paris Hilton here! I do, however, want to do what is best for my girl soooo a coat it is. I'm convinced that she will be more comfortable in the long run. Thanks again and any more spots to check out are gladly welcome.

If they are going to be out for any length of time (more that a potty break) I use coats in the winter. I like FidoFleece-come in all colors and sizes and launder nicely. They are also not restrictive so the dogs can be crazy and the coats stay put. My boy, especially, has low thyroid and has lost coat and is much more active when we go out in the cold if he has a coat on-I figure, just like kids, if they are shivering they are cold and need a coat :)

Ha ha.....I swore to my wife that we would not dress up Midas once we had her. But like you I caved when I saw her shiver in the cold.

We live in Canada, so cold is what we have at the moment. She actually likes her coat now, and it is hysterical to watch her in it.

Just thought I would add my two cents.

I tried all the local spots, Old Navy, Petco, PetsMart and another couple of local stores. I found nothing in Nevas size. I got a Large vest that was pretty cute yet not goofy but she is too wide in the chest. She looked soooo funny walking like a penguin because she could'nt move her front legs properly! I will look at the sites a few of you had sent me and try again. Thanks again!

Go to horsecreations.com and you type in your dogs measurements, pick the colour and they had make them to fit your dog. They will even do adjustments for you should you need it. Billy's fits him perfectly and it is an excellent quality coat and was not too expensive ($30-40 ish I think).

I just placed an order from their website, how long did you have to wait for your coat? I don't believe I saw it on the site.
