I can't imagine ever having a dog of any other breed, now that I've had Tae. A Boxer will keep you entertained....forever. They have the most amazing sense of humor and are also sensitive souls. They do require a certain amount of attention, too, as well as exercise. Tae requires less than she did as a younger girl (she's 3 now), but needs it, nevertheless. I walk her 2x/day.

boxers are ideal dogs to have for many reasons. first you will never stop being amused by your boxer he/she will keep you laughing. they really are low maintance when it comes to grooming so you arent constantly combing out your dog. they arent too large or too small they are just the right size for hugs. as for exercising your boxer a nice walk in the evening and morning will do him/her fine and if you have a yard to let him/her out thats fine too.

chloe has never destroyed a think(i can honestly say that) and she is 6 so it really depends on your dog and the circimstances.

i have two dogs both females and they have always gotten along just fine never had an aggressive issue with them . there is a five year differnce between them. but i have heard stories about female fighting.

i do hope you decide to get one and enjoy all the fun that comes with a boxer and dont forget if you get one there are many adult and older puppies in foster care and rescues looking for homes.

Yes, Boxer will need at least 2 good walk (1 hour) a day plus playing time and they want an attention!
My Berta is 15 month now and she is very good with other females. My sister has cocker spaniel femaile, and whwn she is going somewhere the dog stays with us, and I did'nt have any problem at all even my sisters dog don't like other dogs, but Berta always making game and fun of everything so they ether play or sleep.
They are the best dogs !!!!!

Not Just Boxers

I would consider a male dog too. It's not just boxers where females don't get along. My female lab will viciously fight with my mom's female chow mix. I also think part of it is that the lab is high energy and annoys my mom's dog who is very low energy. The scarey thing is that many times they get along fine and then fights break out unexpectedly.

I agree with all the others exercise is a MUST. I can't say I've had any problems with Ali destroying things. She is almost 2 now and has settled somewhat. But she runs everything day for at least an hour and that is very physical cause she runs with her buddy Brooke. It is no stop playing and runnning. There are days of course when the weather is not suitable but for the most part she's out for a run everyday. Last year when she was about 1 she used to unzip my sofa cushions and pull all the stuffing out. It was the older sofa down stairs and it was when she was bored from not being able to get out for a few days when we had bad weather. As far as loveable there is nothing like a boxer. They are the most cuddliest and loving dogs I've had encountered. I can't imagine life without my Ali.

We're having bad weather where i'm at right now so I have't let Brutus out to really let loose yet since i got him about a month ago. But i do play with him all the time to burn some of that energy. He hasn't been destructive at all. I think with you having other dogs will help out but as far as the female female thing. My GF's mom has two shih-tzu's brother and sister. The boy at first would snip at Brutus for wanting to play all the time. The girl would run away at the site of Brutus because of his high energy. I'll let you take weather that's good or bad on your own. But for a boxer puppy, I've noticed the recipe is, plenty of food, plenty of toys, a crate, and LOTS of potty breaks, And lots of LOVE.
You'll do fine.

Rocky is almost 6 months and hasn't destroyed anything yet either. He tried to chew on some of the cords in the house when he was younger and we told him no and gave him a toy instead and he's left them alone ever since. Sometimes he'll chew on a shoe, but he hasn't destroyed any of them. He has a doggy door that goes into the garage so he can be outside or inside while were gone at work and he's more interested in his toys and sticks than anything else in the yard.

He does have tons of energy when we get home from work. It's not an option if we want to take him for a walk or not because if we don't he's a fire ball of energy all night long. Someone posted a note saying that there's nothing sweeter than a tired boxer and that is the absolute truth. They can be a bit of work but it honestly pays off. When your tired when you get home from work and would rather sit on the couch and watch tv instead of walking the dog, you are so happy at the end of the day after you walked your dog and he comes and lays next to you on the couch and rests his head in your lap. You just can't help but to fall in love.

Boxers are such loving dogs and their personalities are amazing. But they do require a good amount of your attention and absolutely need to be exercised.
